Course Description
Introduction to AutoLISP is an instructor led training course which is
designed to provide a one day introduction to this variant of LISP which comes with
AutoCAD. AutoLISP is both a subset and superset of standard LISP. It is an interpretive
language which has been enhanced to allow development of custom AutoCAD applications which
allow computations or manipulation of the drawing database. AutoLISP is well suited for
simple and repetitive tasks which do not require the speed, flexibility, sophistication
and power of the ADS C or ARX C++ language interfaces. Topics covered include: what can
you do with AutoLISP, command macros vs. AutoLISP, menu commands, data types, standard
functions, conditional expressions, running AutoCAD commands, and making AutoLISP
functions act as AutoCAD commands.
